1916 Couplet Cowl Wood

While investigating why the hood on his 1916 Model T Couplet did not fit correctly, our customer discovered that the firewall was not bolted to the cowl. The reason was that the wooden framework in the cowl area was so badly deteriorated that there was no wood to bolt the firewall to. The remains of the cowl framework and the floor board risers were given to use in order for us to fabricate new pieces. The customer also knew of another person who was restoring a 1916 Couplet and needed these same pieces.
Additionally, the fourth floor board had extra holes in it and the floor boards were in poor condition.

From the remains of the original pieces two new sets of cowl frameing and floor board risers were made. These pieces were difficult to make. Due to the tapers and curves there is no way to accuratly determine some of the dimensions. There was some trial and error until the final pieces were made.
